Flower Power
Today I am sharing photos of my wonderful indoor plants who are very confused. We begin with Ferdinand. Ferdinand was a dream of Daryl's who saw me one lazy late spring morning in the garden planting tiny, microscopic seeds into the warm earth. I was sewing my first herb garden - dill, basil and parsley. I already had a forest of chives, tarragon and mint! Did I mention this was last spring?
Daryl decided that he, too, wanted to plant something. He choose peppers. Peppers? I asked. Peppers - the hot ones. That is what he wanted, that is what he got.
It is now time for a small celebration. Almost 11 months later we have the signs of our first hot pepper. To put things into context - the pepper is about the size of a peanut. Thank goodness we were not starving and waiting for this pepper to sustain us! However, one will lead to more...and we will have a hot pepper fajita with mojitos!Speaking of growing things...my orchid given to me by the Schuelers as a house warming gift, which I thought I had killed - the fate of so many of my attempts at gardening, has sprouted again. I was recently told they can go dormant and then pop out again! Does anyone know if I need to stake the off-shoot? Nothing is happening with the vertical stem.My Christmas cactus did not bloom at Christmas. I was told by my mom that it could be an Easter cactus. Very religious flowering plant - I thought. Not the case. Said plant was green from the day I bought it. Alas, white flowers have erupted all over the place! Perhaps it is a Mother's Day cactus. Yay!

Please note blog dog sitting on guard for thee in the great outdoors!

Hi Alex: Did you say Mojitos?

So happy to see the Orchid is alive and well, see!? They are dormant for abit. Right now ours is just an ugly vertical stick but patience will pay off. Your plants look great and Daryl must be a proud papa of his pepper!
Baby Tia is sure one cute pup! Twyla must be so excited!!!!!!! Our baby is no more, he is HUGE now and acting like a silly teenager. He and Randy just go crazy tearing around the house playing tag and hide/go/seek. Finished our puppy class and he did great. We are taking a break until after summer for the next level. He is very well behaved and listens quite well. Even does a high five much to the girl's delight. Still can't leave him along outside though as he will dig or find trouble. Speaking of outside, we have a new extended patio! Hope you can make it out to Ktown sometime soon for a visit and see it...Guinness needs a romp with Fletcher! haha. Let us know if you are out our way as you know you are always welcome! Miss ya, Mich and Co.
