Then the night just got weird...
Very few photos of the costumes were taken - I'll have to get some more from the neighbours.
Spook Supper 2007
On Saturday night we hosted a Spook Supper to celebrate one of the best holiday times of the year...Halloween! The preparation took over 3 weeks from the time we started purchasing items and creating the menu.
Pumpkin carving of our 13 pumpkins (lucky number) took over 4 hours with Fletcher discovering that he LOVES raw pumpkin guts! Poor Chow was a little sick that evening!
Do you think that Papa would have ever thought that his son-in-law would be putting make-up on him...never.Mom and Papa were both an amazing help and I think they had a good time too! It was awesome to have them take part in such a fun evening!Daryl - the dead chef.Gives a new meaning to the term "Finger Food"
Revovations Continue
OK, so not a lot of writing, lots of photos. We've started some more home renovations just in time for Halloween. We've ripped the carpet out of the second bedroom and will install hardwood in here, along with the hallway, 3rd bedroom, stairs, downstairs hall...etc, etc, etc. Also, we've picked a new paint colour and will install wainscoting along the bottom portion of the room - just to brighten this room up a little. Daryl is finishing off the job I started last March by removing the ugly tile from the front entrance. Once the thin-set and grout is all removed and the floor is flat we will install hardwood here as well.

No, I haven't forgotten about my promise to update the blog on a regular basis, I just thought that I should include some photos with the recent happenings. Well, as it turns out, I don't have any photos today. But I will tell you what's been going on...and you can use you imagination until I post the visuals.
Hardwood Floors: Daryl and I decided that gone were the days of carpet and icky tile from our home. We are installing hardwood floors throughout the main floor and downstairs where the icky tile was previously found. I have spent the last few days preparing the areas, clearing furniture, removing the baseboards and even some of the old carpet. It's a total war zone - but will look amazing when we're done.
Planter Box: My dad was over at our place last week for the construction of my 4x4 planter box along the front of the house. At over 40' in length, with multiple levels and a log-cabin look to it - I'm so impressed with the final result. I've started putting some more earth and plants in there so they are set for the coming winter.
Spring Bulbs: I've never planted spring bulbs before...we'll see what survives!

Dog Park
I found these from a while ago...back when I was boycotting the posts (no reason other than laziness).Chow and his mates...(l to r) Harvey, Chow, Shia and Kona sprawled with very little dignity in front. Maybe he was just showing off cause he still had all his God given boy-parts...hummChow, Kona and Auntie-JamiChow strutting as he patrolled the park for troublemakers (aka dogs being dogs)

HOT TUB!
It's amazing what 4 guys can do when they put their minds to it! At 9am last Sunday morning Daryl got the gun-crew together and managed to move the hot tub from my parent's place to ours with little or no damage to person or property! I was impressed, as I watched on from behind the lens and clicked away at the progress. Now all I have to do is take care of the electrical and then fill the tub! WOOHOO HOT TUB!The long, narrow path...down stone steps.Fewf! Made it to the trailer!Hot Tub on the road...do we need a permit for this?
Another narrow staircase to travel. At least they were both down!
Almost there! Just a few more inches! The boys then realized that they were missing one...Brian? Did you get trapped under something heavy?

October Resolution
Alright...this is it. The return of the continually updated blog from the loops for all those who have put the unbearable pressure on me to continue. It's been a crazy summer which has progressed into fall without warning. Family has come and gone, some have stayed on...and there is the never-ending plethora of food.
Helene arrived from Australia last week, Nadia and the boys from Toronto were here for the weekend, and as you can imagine, it was a gong show beyond compare! We went to Adams River to watch the beginning of the annual salmon run. It was a little disappointing, as the numbers were one tenth what they were expecting this year...but we had fun, nonetheless.

We did some amazing day trips down Dead-Man Creek Road...Nadia, Mac and the chow thought they were going to be left behind...where some amazing wildlife was seen.
