A Camping We Will Go
Much overdue photos of our 1st camping adventure with Gabrielle. We were invited to join our neighbours and friends in Osoyoos in the South Okanagan for a wonderful camping adventure at Nk'Mip Campgound. The weather is typically hot with periods of very hot - where not even the lake cools you off. We were very fortunate to have cooler weather, 30C most days with a slight breeze - and the lake was very refreshing!

We brought our boat and every man, woman and child had a blast either wake-boarding, skiing, tubing, knee boarding or just hanging out on the yacht...which still needs a name!
We were unsure about how the sleeping arrangements would work out, as Gabrielle has never slept outside of her crib or cot. We set up the back of the truck under the canopy with foam mattresses, sleeping bags, stuffies etc. and when it came time for bed, Gabrielle thought this was the best play area EVER! There was no sleep to be had...not with all this freedom! So, we quickly realized that the only way to get the wee one to sleep was to put the cot inside the truck. It didn't take 2 minutes for her to pass out for the night once inside. We all slept great! Papa and Gabrielle in the back of the truck, and Mama and Fletcher in the tent. Fletcher kept on wanting my pillow - but I wouldn't share. What a mean mama!
Bath time was most excellent - what better way than to bathe out in the great outdoors! We filled a Rubbermaid tub with warm water and Gabrielle had her evening baths with everyone watching - what a ham she was! Blowing bubbles, splashing, showing how she can kick - the tub was a bit too small to show her front crawl or butterfly stroke - but we all know she can do it!

Gabrielle had her first taste of Nutella while on this trip - and between an English Muffin with half peanut butter and half nutella she looked like a Reese's Pieces! Fletcher and the other 3 dogs were sitting patiently to "clean" the baby after each and every meal! The beach that we went to had the most amazing sand dunes that the kids loved to climb and run down, hurling themselves into the water below - causing much anxiety tot he dogs watching. Gabrielle loved to play in the soft sand building castles or just hanging out in the warm water in her floating Nemo boat. When her hands would get too covered with sand, she would walk into the water about thigh deep, bend over and rinse her hands; then would return to playing. Such a good girl.We were really roughing it at night...with the LCD projector and Bose sound system we watched movies on the white background of one of the trailers...complete with microwave popcorn! Can't wait to do it all again next year!
20 Weeks
This poor bug-a-lug. They say the second and subsequent children are neglected when compared to the overwhelming excitement and anticipation of the first...and unfortunately, I have to admit this has been true in our home as well. It's not to say we're not excited or eager for this little bundle...it's that there is just so much going on with Gabrielle and life that we hardly have time to feel the kicks and squirms these days!

I think the other major factor in the inattention paid to said second child is the fact that at 20 weeks I've gained just over 3lbs (1.5kg) and have no real visible sign of a belly bump. Even with Gabrielle at this stage I was showing something!
Well, here I am, at 20 weeks...this is only the second photo taken specifically to show off the belly...maybe we'll wait 2 weeks, or a month next time if nothing changes!
